LED wallpaper is set to hit the market as Philips joins forces with Kyadrat Soft Cells to market a luminous textile product. The companies believe they can bolster productivity and well-being in workplaces with the product that will also provide acoustic control. The partnership will see Philips’ addressable LEDs integrated into Kvadrat Soft Cells acoustic panels to enhance spaces with ambient light. |
Henrik Holm, managing director of Kvadrat Soft Cells, said: “Philips is a natural partner for our business as we are both dedicated to encouraging well-being and developing solutions that positively impact peoples’ moods. Through this partnership, we have developed decorative lower cases that truly bring spaces to life.” Toni Ivergard: Philips introduce LED wallpaper which also provides acoustic control. This has a lot of potential for design of control rooms to provide design of luminance instead of illumination. Windows and illumination/light fittings will easily and unintentional create reflection and glare. I expect the use of sounds to complement traditional displays. This will demand a good general control of the acoustics in control rooms. Toni Ivergard, |
